Does CBD Support Weight Loss?

Could it be the answer everyone is looking for? Could CBD be part of a regimen that helps you lose weight the healthy way? From “fat browning” to metabolic support, research suggests this industrious cannabinoid has a lot of potential. So the big question is……

How can CBD oil help with weight loss?

In this day and age, the pressure to be slim has never been so overwhelming. From fat shaming and bullying on Facebook to the warped images we are presented with on celebrity magazines and Instagram feeds which have been filtered six ways from Sunday, we’re constantly bombarded with images of the “perfect” beach body. Let’s be real. Nobody’s perfect, and what gets sold as the ideal is frustratingly unattainable for most of us.

We’re constantly told that slimmer is healthier, but is this actually the real situation? The reality may be way more complex. On the one hand, links have been made between obesity and health problems like diabetes and heart disease. On the other hand, numerous studies have shown that it’s possible to be healthy at many different weights. The pressure to be thin can also lead to low self-esteem and dangerous fad-dieting. Crash diets can deprive our bodies of the nutrients and energy we need to stay healthy.

When it comes to weight loss, any decision you make should be about health. That doesn’t mean we don’t understand the desire to fit into that killer pair of jeans. Let’s be honest, we’ve all craved an extra boost of confidence during beach season, but when it comes down to it, any body on the beach is a beach body!

That said, if you’re feeling sluggish, or think your health could benefit from shedding a few pounds, we’ve got your back. Along with a healthy diet and exercise, CBD oil could be a useful part of a weight-loss regimen that works with your body, not against it.

The role of the endocannabinoid system (ECS)

The body’s endocannabinoid system helps to regulate numerous biological processes, including immune response, metabolic function, and more. Its influence is exerted through a network of cell receptors, with the two main receptor types being CB1 and CB2. Neurotransmitters called endocannabinoids bind to these receptors, triggering various biological responses.

While CB1 receptors are concentrated in the central nervous system, CB2 receptors can be found on cells throughout the body. However, in people with obesity, CB1 receptors spread beyond the central nervous system, proliferating in fatty tissue. This suggests a connection between CB1 receptor activation and obesity.

In addition to endocannabinoids, certain external compounds can also affect the ECS. These include CBD and other phytocannabinoids found in cannabis. CBD doesn’t bind to CB1 and CB2 receptors directly. However, it’s been shown to act on the ECS in complex, indirect ways.

Burning fat and “browning” fat

When it comes to weight loss and overall health, fat tends to get a bad rap. But not all body fat is created equal. Just like different foods contain healthy and unhealthy fats, body fat can also be healthy or harmful. Did you know that fat cells actually come in different colours?

White adipose tissue—or “white fat”—is the result of storing excess calories. Too much white fat stored around the abdomen has been linked to higher risk for metabolic disorders like diabetes, as well as heart disease and other ailments.

On the other hand, brown adipose tissue—or “brown fat”—is a healthy type of fat. Brown fat cells contain a high concentration of iron-rich mitochondria. That’s what gives them their brown colour. These fat cells burn calories to generate heat, and may actually help combat obesity. Newborns, hibernating animals, and people with healthy metabolic function tend to have a higher percentage of brown fat.

Well, it turns out CBD could promote the conversion of white fat into brown fat—a process known as “fat browning”. Recent research published in the journal Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry found CBD to increase expression of marker genes and proteins specific to brown fat. At the same time, CBD decreased levels of proteins associated with white fat cell generation. CBD also stimulated lipid metabolism (conversion of fat to energy), making it a promising option for obesity prevention.

Metabolic health and appetite control

Obesity has been noted as a risk factor for health problems like type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol levels. The key to that link is metabolic health. An excess of fat in the abdominal region has been associated with insulin resistance, a blood sugar problem that’s often a precursor to more serious metabolic disorders.

Insulin resistance is when cells stop responding properly to the hormone insulin. Your body then struggles to process glucose and starts overproducing insulin to compensate. Thus, blood sugar levels go from being too high to dropping dramatically from the extra insulin. The result is akin to a sugar rush and subsequent crash. It’s a rollercoaster that leaves you feeling sluggish, hungry, and prone to cravings.

Research suggests a link between the endocannabinoid system and metabolic regulation. Cannabinoid receptors are found in the brain, endocrine pancreas, and gastrointestinal tract. They are an integrated part of the networks that regulate food intake and appetite.

CB1 receptor overactivation appears to play a role in visceral obesity—unhealthy fat stored around the abdomen. Visceral obesity, in particular, has been linked to various health risks—and CBD could play a preventative role. Studies have found that CBD may block the enzymes that activate CB1 receptors. Possible effects include appetite reduction and inhibition of weight gain.

Inflammation and oxidative stress have also been found to play a pivotal role in the development of metabolic syndrome. Through its action on the endocannabinoid system, CBD has been shown to have both anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. That means it could support metabolic health in a holistic manner, acting through more than one mechanism.

In fact, a study in the American Journal of Pathology noted the “tremendous therapeutic potential” of CBD in the treatment of metabolic disorders. While more investigation is needed, researchers are hopeful for the future of clinical practice involving CBD.

CBD for weight loss — The future looks bright

While there’s a lot of interesting research out there about the benefits of CBD, much of it is still preliminary. That said, the future looks bright.

CBD appears to promote healthy “fat browning”, as well as play a possible role in regulating metabolism. Healthy metabolic functioning helps balance blood sugar highs and lows. That means more consistent energy levels and fewer cravings. Those effects alone can help you eat right, hit the gym, and be more consistent when it comes to making healthy decisions.

Thus, while more clinical studies are needed, CBD oil appears promising as a supplement. Along with diet and exercise, it may provide additional support for a healthy lifestyle that can lead to weight loss.

What Are Cannabinoids and How Can They Help You?

What are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that can be found within the Cannabis sativa species (and also in a handful of other flora). Cannabinoids are present naturally inside these types of plants, making up part of their biological structure. Cannabinoids found inside plants are technically called “phytocannabinoids”, but fall under the collective category of cannabinoids.

You could, to draw a picture, liken these cannabinoids to ingredients in a recipe—without them, you wouldn’t have the finished product; in this case, the hemp plant. And while cannabinoids are essential, they only form part of the recipe. We also need flavonoids and terpenes—but we will explain their function in a separate article.

Different cannabinoids in cannabis

Every cannabinoid has a slightly different purpose, but in total, there are believed to be over a hundred of them inside a single hemp plant. Part of the difficulty in understanding what each cannabinoid does stems from the fact that they don’t all exist at the same time or in similar concentrations. Many are only present while hemp is growing, while others need exposure to the atmosphere or sunlight before they can develop.

In general, mature hemp plants (that’s what we use to extract CBD) feature similar ratios of cannabinoids, including CBD, CBN, CBC, and many more. The letters are acronyms for their scientific names and help to differentiate between their chemical structure.

In hemp, CBD makes up the lion’s share of cannabinoids, while the others only feature in trace amounts. Using sophisticated machinery, it is possible to isolate specific cannabinoids and transform them into a consumable product—CBD oil, capsules, lotions, etc.

Having dozens of cannabinoids at hand is all well and good, but without a useful function, they are pretty pointless to us—that’s where the ECS steps in. Thanks to millions of years of evolution, each of us (including the household dog and cat) has an endocannabinoid system (ECS). This unique regulatory system is capable of interacting with cannabinoids, triggering a wide range of changes inside the body.

Cannabinoid receptors and the endocannabinoid system

The endocannabinoid system is a vast network that extends from the central nervous system to the major organs and nearly everywhere in between. Located at various points throughout the ECS are cannabinoid receptors. These receptors act as activation points, only reacting when they are stimulated or inhibited by cannabinoids.

When a cannabinoid is consumed (usually orally), it passes through our digestive system where it gets broken down by our liver, before being distributed around the body via the bloodstream. As it travels around the body, it aims for a receptor to interact with. However, it isn’t a complete free-for-all. Cannabinoid receptors work using a lock and key principle—this is why certain cannabinoids have effects that others don’t.

CBD, for example, will only interact with receptors that match its chemical structure. The same rules apply to all cannabinoids, as each one can only interact with specific receptors in specific locations throughout the body. Where that receptor is located determines which biological outcome is triggered.

There are dozens of cannabinoids, and they all do something different

We’ve covered a lot of ground, so it is worth recapping. CBD is one of dozens of cannabinoids found in the Cannabis sativa species. Cannabinoids are chemical compounds that have the unique ability to trigger changes within our body, thanks to the endocannabinoid system. The ECS has evolved over millions of years and exists throughout our entire body.

Its primary role is to maintain balance between all our biological systems. This is important because our body functions best when it is in a state of homeostasis (dynamic equilibrium). Finally, by consuming cannabinoids, we can encourage a range of subtle biological changes thanks to cannabinoid receptors linked to the ECS.

Although CBD is the cannabinoid we are most interested in, there are dozens of others—all with unique characteristics. We won’t go into detail in this article, but stay tuned for a deep dive into each one. If you’ve got a question about cannabinoids, you can trust us to have the answer.

Can CBD Help Relieve Symptoms Of Menopause?

Women around the world have been looking for a more natural solution to managing the symptoms of menopause. One such prospect could be CBD, largely due to its influence on the endocannabinoid system (ECS). Before we take a look at the relationship between the ECS and menopause, let’s first understand what causes menopause.

Understanding menopause

Menopause signifies a shift in a woman’s levels of oestrogen and progesterone. As a result, periods will stop, and getting pregnant naturally is no longer an option. Don’t worry though, this is a natural part of getting older, and something every woman goes through. The problem with menopause is that, while it may be a natural process, that doesn’t make the symptoms any more comfortable to live with. For some women, hot flashes, night sweats, difficulty sleeping, low mood, and pain during sex can last for up to fourteen years.

Conventional treatments for symptoms of menopause include hormone replacement therapy (HRT), counselling, and adjustments to diet or exercise regime. The difficulty is that because symptoms persist for years, medication like HRT can take its toll on the body and inflict several side effects.

Living with menopause symptoms

Typically, menopause affects women aged 45–55, but it can occur earlier or later than this timeframe. As we mentioned above, menopause is brought about by a change in the body’s hormone levels. From the mid-thirties, a woman’s oestrogen levels start to decline, signifying the start of perimenopause. The steady decline in oestrogen is what leads to many of the symptoms associated with menopause. Symptoms can continue past menopause into the postmenopausal period, but they are usually less severe than during perimenopause.

Just by listing the symptoms of menopause, it is easy to see the enormous impact on a woman’s quality of life. Many of us are grouchy or feel down after one night of bad sleep, but imagine the same issues persisting for years. Hot flashes can come at the worst time, making it difficult to concentrate, and painful sex puts a strain on any relationship. Over the centuries, women have just had to grin and bear the symptoms of menopause, but thanks to ongoing research, CBD may be the natural solution to making symptoms easier to live with.

CBD’s influence on the endocannabinoid system could play a key role

CBD is believed to be beneficial because of the interactions it has with the ECS and its activation of certain enzymes and receptors. It does not tackle menopause directly, but instead may influence several menopausal symptoms.

The extremely common “hot flashes” experienced during menopause represent the body’s inability to regulate temperature correctly. Previously, studies have shown that the endocannabinoid anandamide (AEA) may play a part in our brain’s ability to regulate temperature. Unfortunately, AEA is quickly broken down in the body by an enzyme called FAAH. CBD, however, has been shown to block the production of FAAH, allowing enhanced signalling of anandamide.

A loss of bone density is another symptom of menopause, which, if left unchecked, can lead to osteoporosis. This time, a study published on ScienceDirect outlined a relationship between CB receptors and TRPV1 channels. They found that patients with osteoporosis had increased TRPV1 channel expression, which leads to “massive overexpression of CB2 receptors”. Their findings not only confirmed the role of the endocannabinoid system in osteoporosis, but they point to a potential treatment with CBD. A supporting study found that CBD “is reported to be most potent at influencing TRPV1 and TRPM8 channels. By regulating TRPV channels using CBD, it is possible that the overexpression found in osteoporosis patients could be reduced, and new therapies introduced as a result”.

The future of CBD and menopause

Invoking the studies listed above, and CBD’s proposed anxiolytic effects, it is understandable why the compound is being explored as a therapeutic treatment for the symptoms of menopause. CBD may be able to support the body on multiple fronts—thanks to its interaction with the ECS—with a fraction of the side effects associated with HRT medications. Considering menopause is a natural part of getting older, it makes sense that future treatments look to natural alternatives.

How To Choose the CBD Product Best for You

Over the last decade, scientists have been learning more and more about cannabidiol (CBD) and the positive effects it has on the human body. It’s being used to treat inflammation, stress, depression and anxiety, as well as to combat complicated health conditions including epilepsy, chronic pain, cancer, schizophrenia, multiple sclerosis, Crohn’s, diabetes, migraines, arthritis, and even the side effects of cancer treatments.

While CBD is certainly an excellent, non-toxic alternative to western medicine – it also provides an array of benefits for healthy people. It supports immune function, aids digestion, promotes healthy sleep, nurtures balance within the body’s regulatory system, and keeps diseases at bay. But because CBD has so many uses and methods, selecting the right product can be a bit overwhelming. Here’s your guide to selecting the perfect CBD product and consumption method.

How to Choose the Best CBD Product and Consumption Method

There are four main ways to get CBD into your system – inhalation, ingestion, topical application, and sublingual. Each offers its own perks, making some forms more suitable than others, depending upon your needs.

Inhalation

Inhaling CBD is great for treating acute symptoms that require immediate attention. When inhaled, CBD enters the bloodstream through the lungs – allowing the compound to be absorbed and metabolized much faster than if it were to go through the lengthy digestive process. Effects can be felt within a minute or two, and typically last for a couple of hours. One of the most efficient CBD delivery systems, inhalation is perfect for relieving pain, inflammation, and anxiety.

CBD Vape Oil

Vaporizing is a great option for non-smokers who would still like to enjoy the benefits from CBD inhalation. Smoking causes combustion, producing a hot, ashy smoke that can irritate the lungs and throat. Vaping, on the other hand, heats a liquid just enough to release a (smokeless) vapor that is much more gentle on the respiratory tract.

CBD vape oils (e-juices) are available in various strengths and flavors, offering another appeal to those who aren’t fond of hemp’s natural taste.

CBD Joints and Pre-Rolls

Hemp flowers are rich in CBD, terpenes, and other beneficial cannabinoids. For those who find the act of smoking to be therapeutic in itself, hemp joints are a great alternative to tobacco cigarettes. With less than .3% THC, CBD joints deliver a punch of wellness benefits without the psychoactive side effects of marijuana.

CBD Crystals, CBD Wax & Other Concentrates

CBD concentrates are high-potency extracts of the hemp plant. Common forms include live resin wax, crystals, shatter, crumble, and butter. Because they contain especially large levels of CBD, concentrates offer a less-is-more impact when compared to other forms.

Dabbing – the flash vaporization of cannabis concentrates (in our case, cannabidiol), once applied to a hot surface and inhaled – is one of the most popular ways to use concentrates. This method allows the body to absorb the compound quickly and efficiently. A single dab offers a a quick pick-me-up and almost instant medical relief for those treating pain, inflammation, and/or anxiety.

While dabbing is often associated with negative connotations, if done correctly and with a high-quality, clean CBD product, it’s a very effective and safe method. It is, however, generally recommended for those who have more experience with taking CBD products.

Due to their high potency, concentrates often contain a lot of terpenes (the aromatic oils that give cannabis its distinctive smell). For those who enjoy the smell and taste of the plant, dabbing is great option. Please note, not all concentrates are suitable for dabbing – be sure to carefully read the label or consult an expert.

Ingestion

Ingesting CBD works similarly to the way vitamins are delivered and absorbed. Upon entering the body, CBD compounds first pass through the digestive system, and are then metabolized in the liver. During this process, the active compounds are released into your bloodstream.

Because of this slightly complicated and longer delivery process, the onset of effects from orally administered CBD is much slower than inhalation. Ingested CBD can take anywhere from 30 minutes to two hours to kick in. CBD edibles, however, can often outlast other methods, reaching up to four hours.

CBD Edibles

CBD gummies, chocolate, cookies, ice cream – you name it. CBD enriched foods and candy are one of the most popular (and enjoyed) methods of consuming cannabidiol. Their discrete and tasty characteristics make them a great option for first-timers, and their ease of portability makes them especially suitable for everyday use.

If you plan to cook your own CBD-enriched edibles, do keep in mind that CBD has a boiling point of about 320-356°F (160-180°C) – cooking or baking at any temperature higher will result in the degradation of CBD compounds, leaving you with a less potent end product.

CBD Capsules

With no taste or odor, CBD capsules are a quick and easy choice. Ideal for those using the compound as a medicinal supplement, they’re the simplest method to work into a daily routine. Capsules are available in various strengths, so you don’t have to worry about measuring anything and can rest assured that you’re getting the desired dose.

If you do decide to go with capsules, it’s suggested to take the pills with food for optimum absorption.

Sublingual

While the onset of effects might take slightly longer than inhalation, sublingual delivery allows for both fast and long-lasting relief. The compound’s therapeutic effects can be expected to peak between 20-30 minutes, and last between 3-4 hours.

To take CBD sublingually, the product (usually CBD oil) should be placed under the tongue, and held for up to a minute and a half. During this process, the cannabinoids are absorbed by the capillaries in the mucous membranes and released directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the digestive system and liver. This quick delivery process enables the compound to interact with the endocannabinoid system almost immediately.

Whatever remnants of the product are not absorbed under the tongue are then swallowed, metabolized in the liver, and then released into the bloodstream. This offers the body a second boost, giving sublingually delivery the advantage of lasting longer than other methods.

CBD Oil and Tinctures

Since its revival, CBD oil is perhaps the most well known hemp product on the market. It’s especially liked for its portability, ease of use, and quick acting benefits.

Most often, CBD oil and tinctures are administered using a dropper, making it easy to control and measure your intake. Especially for those who are still trying to get a feel for their preferred dosage, CBD oil is great option. Tinctures are often mixed with other herbs, and can be formulated to help with specific issues, such as digestion and sleep.

Topical Application

Typically designed for localized pain-relief and healing, CBD enriched topicals work only on the uppermost layer of the skin cells. The cannabidiol does not enter the bloodstream, meaning the product will not interact with the entire endocannabinoid system, but rather specifically with the CB2 receptors that are found in your skin.

CBD topicals a great anti-inflammatory for either irritated skin or sore muscles. They’re lack of psychoactive qualities makes them an excellent choice for those who are not comfortable with CBD entering their bloodstream.

CBD Lotions, Salves, and Soaps

Using CBD topicals is pretty straightforward. Massage into your sore muscles, lightly pat over irritated patches of skin, or rub over your forehead and temples in the case of a headache. CBD infused soaps make a great option for those treating dry skin or other irritation issues. They’re also great for those who have sensitive skin in general, and for overall skin wellness.

While there are various CBD wax products suitable for topical application, be sure to carefully read the label. The skin is capable of absorbing the compounds in wax only if the substance also contains some form of solvent or carrier. Without a carrier, the wax is most likely made for vaping or dabbing.

As research continues to fuel a deeper understanding of the benefits CBD offers, the demand for cannabidiol products is increasing. And, fortunately, producers are coming out with amazing CBD infusions suitable for just about anyone. That’s the beauty of CBD – there’s no right or wrong way to use it. It’s whatever you feel the most comfortable with, and whatever works best for your body.

Sharing the Benefits of CBD Oil

To get the word out about the benefits of CBD in Florida, and beyond, we need everyone’s help.

It’s important to be able to communicate with your friends and family in simple terms, because CBD is really helping improve the quality of life for people of all ages and even our cherished pets!

With that in mind, here are some ways you can describe CBD and the Endocannabinoid System without running to the nearest medical text books.

Neurotransmitters and Cannabinoids

A simple way to describe how the Endocannabinoid System works is as a communications system in your body.

Your nerves send information from one nerve to the next. If you touch a hot stove, that information travels one nerve at a time to your brain. When your brain realizes “ouch hot”, it sends a signal back down your arm to move your hand.

Your nerves use all sorts of signals to perform most all body functions. This doesn’t just include voluntary motion like moving your hand. It also includes breathing, digestion, appetite, mood, restfulness, and a host of other conditions.

This clearly gets complicated. In order to regulate such complex systems, nerves need more than just a binary (on/off) signal. To accommodate that complexity, nerves use what are called neurotransmitters.

Neurotransmitters are a vast collection of chemicals that will cause nerves to fire or not to fire depending on the amount of that chemical present. A number of things can happen if we don’t have the right balance of neurotransmitters.

It’s widely theorized that a person suffering the effects of an anxiety attack has a neurotransmitter (serotonin) imbalance, continuously telling the brain “things are on fire”.

A person who is taking CBD may have an improved ability to stimulate serotonin receptors, which can help restore mood function and calm. Neurotransmitters act in thousands of different ways in the body – whether directly, in concert with one another, or by regulating downstream production of various hormones.

Endocannabinoid System

The Endocannabinoid System (ECS) is a master regulatory system that monitors and regulates (balances) all the major systems in the body, including the brain and nervous system, immune system and hormonal system.

The ECS seems to play a senior regulatory role with other neurotransmitter systems, hormone release, and a cadre of higher order function like: sleep, appetite, mood, immunity, locomotion, reward gratification and more.

The ECS is one of the oldest neurotransmission systems, found in animals as old as 600 million years. As you might guess, it plays a very primitive role in our bodies’ regulation.

One prevailing hypothesis for CBD’s wide range of beneficial effect is precisely this regulatory aspect. In short, cannabinoids can help put your body back into stasis (balance).

In Summary

The easiest way to explain the potential benefits of CBD oil is that it can help to restore balance and reduce stress in the mind and body.

Nearly every long-term health problem, including chronic pain, inflammation, anxiety, depression, PTSD, sleep problems, skin problems, and many more; is caused or made worse by a mind and body that is out of balance and under excessive stress.

The stress of modern life can be overwhelming, so it’s nice to know there is a natural way to potentially help relieve the stress and health challenges that so many of us face.

Please share the benefits of CBD oil with your friends and family and let us know if you have any questions. We are here to help. So please stop by and visit with us at our local CBD store in Florida.

Hemp and Marijuana Plants – The Breakdown

“Where does CBD oil come from?” or “What is CBD oil?” are common teasers on WWW or in magazines…most just get your attention with links to their own brand. Hemp and Marijuana Plants – The Breakdown

CBD—cannabidiol—can be an incredibly confusing market to understand and to purchase in.  I hope you feel more at ease with your personal needs and ability to find products that work after reading this.

Glitzy websites with dazzling pop-ups can make their product look superior to others, but it does not make it easier to be an educated consumer. I guarantee if your keep reading thing CBD world and its products will become easier to navigate.

“Where does CBD oil come from?” or “What is CBD oil?” are common teasers on WWW or in magazines…most just get your attention with links to their own brand. You see an ad for CBD tincture, and it sounds great– all you would need to get rid of that pain, or help with anxiety, work related stress, etc. Don’t be deceived by looks—it’s what’s inside that bottle, salve or capsule that counts.

CBD “oil” can be extracted from the marijuana plant or the hemp plant, with the latter restored to “legal” status after being prohibited along with marijuana. Both plants look alike, but one has medical benefits, the other has an added feature you may not want—a “high.”

Hemps Prohibition

Perhaps the pot leaf brings back fond memories and gives some people a mental feeling of once again reliving those days or being young and rebellious or curiosity. Seriously, this is why you see so many brands incorporate that leaf as its logo. Yes, both plants do have a very similar leaf. Other than the obvious, a pot leaf it is nothing more than a marketing gimmick, and it works, but to what end?  CBD companies do NOT incorporate a “pot” leaf into their branding that I’ve come across—and I recommend staying away from the ones that do. The capture their buyers with shadows, not substance.

Hemps Natural Appearance

Hemp has a nearly identical appearance to marijuana. Though the marijuana plant contains all the same ingredients as the Hemp plant, it’s important to note is the ingredients. If you smoke marijuana, you get all the ingredients found in hemp—save for THEC, one major difference between the two is simply the THC content. Marijuana’s level of THC will get you high. With hemp, scant trace of THC and no “high.”

What if, for arguments sake, there was a marijuana plant with no or extremely little THC? You will not get high. It’s like trying to get drunk with O’Doul’s. Yes, O’Doul’s is a beer, but the alcohol that gets you “drunk” is not in it. A 12-pack will only send you on more than one trip to the bathroom.

History on Hemp

Hemp has been part of human history for thousands of years, renowned in its versatility. Those schooners with the billowing sails held strong with hemp rope. Clothing, window coverings and other household goods were made from it—including edibles for the nutritional value it offered.  Sadly, it was banned because of its similar appearance to the marijuana plant back in the 1930’s. There are many theories including conspiracy theories as to why—one is that, at the time, cotton producers knew hemp was superior for many products and saw that if hemp was taken out of the equation the demand for cotton will go way up, which is exactly what happened. One thing most experts can agree on is that it was a strange and fool hardy decision.

Extraction of Hemp

If one was to take Hemp plant, and use one of the many extraction processes, it looks like goop. In that extract are over 120 cannabinoid compounds. This is also the process to extract THC from marijuana. The difference?  A Marijuana pant can have between 8% and even up to 22% of THC–you will get high, there is no doubt about that. Conversely, Hemp extract will have a scant percentage-usually in the neighborhood of 0.1% – 1.5% of THC, enough to leave you pain and/or stress less, but not inebriated.

After extraction, the THC compound can be taken out completely, or left alone, as long as its lab tested to contain below .03% of THC, this sort of oil is aptly name Full Spectrum (or Full Plant) CBD, containing all of the cannabinoids without the high. Some consider this the “best” because the extract has all the good properties of the plant – the CBG cannabinoid which works to fight inflammation, pain, nausea and can slow the proliferation of cancer cells. Researchers document it significantly reduces intraocular eye pressure caused by glaucoma. Strains high in CBG will be beneficial in treating conditions such as inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s and many post-chemo negative reactions. Now that is just one of the many cannabinoids, there are many other ones with extremely beneficial effects.

CBD – The Friendly Cannabinoid The benefits of just this one cannabinoid are becoming known and popular. CBD has many medicinal properties such as ant anxiety, pain relief, reduction of inflammation and overall well-being. To give you some insight on its power, the FDA seems to be in the “know” about it, so much so, Epidiolex  is the first drug produced with CBD for two rare and severe forms of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome.

Why? Because no matter what they did, they found nothing worked better than CBD. Before you write CBD products off as “hype, consider this: Of all the billions of dollars that the pharmaceutical industry has, CBD shown to be most effective treatment. Amazing, isn’t it?  Even THC (the “bad boy”) is prescribed to some cancer patients. Because of its beneficent effect, CBD is being prescribed to patients over thousands of pharmaceutical products with too many life-threatening side effects. Keep in mind these are not medical statements, these are the realities being put out there by researchers and actual patients who have benefitted—and their numbers continue to grow.

Three Types of Hemp Extract

Now that CBD is more easily understood, there are three major types you will come across. Full Spectrum, which was explained, is whole plants’ extractions. Next is Broad Spectrum CBD, which all the cannabinoids with the THC completely removed, and its popularity has risen due to containing all of the goodies in terms of cannabinoids except THC. Lastly, Isolate CBD—as the name suggests, the extraction of the Hemp plant was extracted even more just to have the CBD molecule only, nothing else, no CBG, CBN, nothing but pure CBD.

Your most important question is to find out what type of extract you are purchasing and the amount you need to achieve the desired result.

A well-versed consumer can avoid the pitfalls by reading the ingredients and making an informed decision.

Finding CBD Merchant Accounts to Sell CBD Products

Ability to sell CBD products.

Having the ability to take payment for the product and service rendered is not easy, far from easy, but this will help straighten out the process and give you a much deeper understanding. We see a lot of news about the banking process “easing” up, but in reality, it’s not yet.

Having an online business or any business for that matter requires payment unless you are just charitable. And in the CBD world, to put it bluntly, it is much, much harder than normal High Risk categories such as the “normal” high risk categories. First off, online sales, is automatically in a tier of its own, makes no difference if it just teddy bears, clothing, and things some would never consider “high risk”, so why is this? Simple. It’s an online transaction and a “not in person” transaction, which leaves the transaction, no matter how innocent it may seem, in a high risk category. In person transactions, you can ask to see ID, be able to visually spot something not right, etc., but online, you have no idea who it is. And banks, well, to them it’s a risk of a higher nature – credit card fraud is largely to blame.

How banks view CBD.

Banks do not like cannabis, plain and simple. Straight to the point of their view on CBD and other related products to Cannabis. They, no matter how much they are worth, just do not like providing assistance with any business selling CBD. And it is simply due to the laws in this country, so much the bank itself.

There is no way around this. So if you own a store front, you might a bit shocked to learn that in the event you want to dip into the worldwide web you WILL be paying more than “in person”. Instead of the 1.75% you might pay now, expect the rates to be from 2.75% to as much as 10% per transaction.

Enter CBD products. There is this large grey area and this is largely in part, even though federally legal. It is frustrating to all involved, even to the big companies as they are paying into this category of “high risk”. But as they are more established, and process much more, the banks available are more attainable and much more willing to negotiate. So don’t think just the smaller companies are the ones that have the hardest of times. But as the expression goes, “Money talks… and…” well, you know the rest.

Listen to others who been through the process.

From experience, I can tell you that most of the time, the bank will need to see that you have inventory on hand (IOH) with respectable lab certificates and wholesale proof of purchases. This is where the “rock stuck in a hard place part” starts. So after establishing the legality of your business, you have to invest in product, then you can start to really play ball. The more stock you have, the more likely they can assist, as they see the stock as a sign of seriousness and profit for them.

Buying a few products just will not cut it, unfortunately, so it is best to buy as much as much as you can first, but remember, you will also need a “live” website, one that is built on a platform that is friendly to the banks software needed on your site. So please, make sure your site is built on something such as WordPress/WooCommerce, Magento, or BigCommerce. Shopify, is slowly easing its way in to the crowd, but it’s still not as processor friendly as the big three mentioned.

Knowledge is power.

Thankfully I knew this portion as I dealt with high risk products prior to CBD, so I already had an idea, and I hope I am conveying that to you now, so later down the road you are not stuck in a costly bind! I am sure there is not too much that is more frustrating than buying $10-25k in product only to find out that your well built site is not compatible with the banks that are willing to take on new business.

Also, I would like to add if you are still with me, that a processor is simply a bank that processes the payment. They are not, however, the bank that the money after processed goes to, that is a Merchant Account. And unfortunately, big banks such as the Chases and TD Banks of the world will not accept process nor “hold” money for CBD or anything hemp related. For this you would need to find a CBD compliant bank. They are out there but there aren’t too many, most of them are branches offs of larger banks, but hold their own liability and charge for such a service, normally a hundred or so a month. the fee is considered a “compliance fee” which basically means, they watch the regulations and make sure your money does not get frozen or get you kicked out, because if that happens, now your processor that you worked so hard to get, will have no where to put the money they processed. Stick with me, it sounds and is, a bit complex.

How to find a bank.

Simply put, they are not put out in the public and have access usually through brokers and other agents, who will research your business, charge a fee for doing so, usually in the neighborhood of $750 – $1500. Once on board, the compliant bank will most likely charge a monthly fee as well, in the neighborhood of $150.  That is $5 a day, regardless if you are selling anything or not; keep that in mind when budgeting. Also say another $5 per month for the processor, so in total that is $10 daily, 7 days a week that you are paying to accept money. So when buying CBD products also keep in mind, when it comes to negotiating price of product, that every single percentage point matters.

There are other ways around this such as off shore, but at the point it gets even more entangled, the prospect of having a bank and processor off shore is not too advantageous. For several reasons, the strongest reason is being the fact, that legalities can prevent you from bringing the money “home” to your personal checking account. But not to fear, as regulations straighten out, this will be easier. But the point is that I want to drive home, is this is the foundation of your business. Even if you only accept e-checks, same thing applies.

I have seen a lot of companies only accept crypto currency and this helps if you are ok with the limitations the crypto currently holds and the fact that crypto itself may be a risk on its own. But I firmly believe if you go the best path possible by obtaining CBD products that are legitimate and trustworthy and stick to oils (most processors do not like CBD flower), it may take a while but you will get in, just prepare for “fee land” as everyone has their hands out, it’s not like opening the teddy bear store or remotely close. As you can, by now, understand I hope.

Proper banking is your company’s foundation.

Once you have these two crucial keys of this CBD equation, you can breathe a bit easier but remember the fees, do not forget them. The banks surely will not, I can assure you that one. If sales are not coming in yet to cover these fees it’s important to reciprocate this to them, let them know what your game plan is and try to convey (as if they do not know) the game plan. This goes a longer way than one may think, usually the bank account manager on the account has a better understanding of the difficulties of selling CBD product and especially online.

Research online and pay close attention.

It is important to research mostly brokers that are in the business of setting you up to be able to accept money for CBD products. It is also important to know the high interest rate is nowhere near enough at the moment to satisfy processors. The very few that are out there and willing to help and take on your business know that they are in the very few and charge a premium for this, so know this upfront will help you and your decisions now and down the road. Some possessors also will impose what is called a “rolling reserve”, contracts that may be costly to get out of, monthly fees for the software, and higher than average “per transaction charges” (example 6% plus $0.75 per transaction). It all adds up to a lot of money for selling a federally legal, non-intoxicating, dare I say “healthy” commodity, such as CBD oils and anything Cannabidiol related. It’s made much easier for those who invest $10 million into perhaps their own line up of CBD products (CBD oil, CBD pain relief salve, CBD flower, CBD skin beauty, CBD anything).

The price of selling CBD

It certainly is not easy, it certainly is not cheap, and this is part of the reason CBD oils and salves and all the other goodies, are at somewhat premium priced. You see it’s not really so much the CBD that is expensive. It is fair to say it is the banking system and regulations imposed by states. CBD is legal, but there is a grey area being that even though industrial hemp is fully, LEGAL of a Federal level, it is being extracting from the CBD flower, and making it into something else in a way. This is costly as well, but I would the process is very little in comparison to the banking process. You can go months without selling anything, but still keeping the coffers happy. But the consolation is that you in the business before the boom, and the boom it is. And no signs of slowing down, but the future projections are based off what we see now, we never know what is coming; simply put selling CBD products online is daunting, not easy, but if you pull through, it is rewarding like any other high risk gamble.

Uses of CBD Tinctures

How to Use CBD Tinctures

Using CBD Tinctures is quick and simple. They generally come in a small bottle complete with a dropper. The dropper gives you the recommended dosage, and all you need to do is apply the tincture oil under your tongue.

After applying CBD Tincture under your tongue, you hold it there for around 30 seconds to a minute before swallowing. You will absorb the cannabidiol which will then bind to cannabinoid receptors in your body and brain. This enables it to give you the medical benefits of CBD, usually within around 20 to 30 minutes.

There are other ways to use CBD Tinctures. For instance, some prefer to infuse them into food and beverages. However, sublingual application is extremely convenient, especially as it’s a fairly discrete and quick way to consume CBD.

How to Buy CBD Tinctures

It’s also easy to buy CBD Tinctures. CBD Tinctures are made with hemp, making them legal in most US States, even those where cannabis is illegal. You don’t need a prescription or a doctor’s recommendation to buy CBD. It’s available to everyone and simple to get your hands on.

You can often find CBD in dispensaries and health stores. Some stores are even dedicated to CBD products, especially in states where users have a hard time getting medical cannabis. However, many users find it more convenient to buy CBD online for delivery.

You can buy CBD Tinctures online in various quantities. Only a small amount is needed to get the potent medical benefits of cannabidiol. However, there is no possession limit on hemp CBD products and you can stock up as much as you want. You can get it delivered across the states safely and legally.

How to Buy CBD Tinctures

Are CBD Tinctures Legal in the US?

While CBD is often associated with cannabis and some consumers may worry about the legality, CBD Tinctures are perfectly legal to use. CBD Tinctures are extracted from hemp. The US Farm Bill allows the sale and use of hemp across the USA, making hemp-derived CBD Oils legal to use for anybody.

There are some very rare exceptions. Texas has a law against hemp sales, and some governments still try to limit the sale of CBD Tinctures within their states. However, for the most part, you will have no issue buying and using CBD Tinctures.

Are CBD Tinctures Safe to Use?

In addition to being legal to buy, CBD Tinctures are very safe to use. In fact, many medical professionals recommend using CBD due to the fact it is non-addictive and has no harmful side effects.

CBD won’t get you high and you can not overdose on cannabidiol. While taking extreme amounts may result in you feeling queasy and unwell, there are no extreme effects and it’s easy to control your dosage.

This makes CBD Tinctures a useful alternative to things like prescription pain medications, anti-anxiety medications, and sleeping pills. You can treat the same symptoms without the risk of addiction or side effects that damage your health. It’s safe for all ages to use and highly effective in improving your health.

Alternatives to CBD Tinctures

While CBD Tinctures are useful for various purposes and conditions, some users may prefer to try out other forms of CBD treatment. You can also use these treatments in synergy with each other, so there’s no harm in trying out multiple.

CBD Edibles such as CBD Dried Fruit and CBD Gummies are another easy way to consume CBD orally. These are foods infused with CBD oils which are easy to absorb into your body simply by eating. You’ll get the same effects and benefits, although they may take a little longer to digest.

CBD Topicals work by direct application to the skin. These are perfect for pain relief on specific areas- all you need to do is rub in some CBD Pain Cream or a similar product. These won’t give you the mental benefits of CBD, but they are useful for pain, inflammation, healing wounds and skin problems.

If you like the experience of smoking, CBD Doobies enable you to get medical relief without getting high. These also work fast and provide both mental and physical benefits. Alternatively, for a smokeless way to inhale CBD, you can use CBD Vape Pens with oils and cartridges. These come in various flavors, offering a highly enjoyable way to get a healthy dose of CBD.

As CBD becomes more popular and accepted, new products are always emerging. All of these are safe from side effects and beneficial for anyone. If you need to help your dogs and cats, you can even use CBD treats for pets.

Alternatives to CBD Tinctures

CBD Tinctures vs Cannabis Oils

There are various other oil and tincture products available on the market. Some may wonder how different hemp-derived CBD Tinctures are from cannabis-derived CBD and THC oils, for instance.

Hemp CBD Tinctures offer all the same benefits you’d get from cannabis oils. However, they offer it without any of the psychoactive effects of THC. You can also find low-THC cannabis oils which work exactly the same. However, hemp tinctures are more widely available due to the legality of hemp in the states.

There are also cannabis oils which contain even doses of CBD and THC. Users who enjoy the recreational effects of THC may prefer these, as they offer some potent relaxing and euphoric effects. However, patients who need a legal and non-psychoactive way to treat themselves will find CBD Tinctures much better for their purposes.

Why Use CBD Tinctures Over Other Products?

Users may also wonder what are the benefits of CBD Tinctures over other products, such as CBD Vape Oils, Edibles or Topicals. All of these products are beneficial and any of them can help with various symptoms. However, CBD Tinctures are a preferred product by many for a few reasons.

CBD Tinctures are quick to use and quick to absorb. You can get effects such as pain relief very fast and without any hassle. While some may prefer products like topicals for pain relief, CBD Tinctures also give you the mental benefits of CBD such as reduced stress and anxiety.

The convenience of CBD Tinctures also makes them a good product to use on the go. Keeping a bottle in your car allows you to get a quick dose of CBD within 30 seconds. No extra equipment is needed (such as with vaping) and it’s a subtle and discrete method of use.

There’s no issue with using other products, and you may even want to use more than one in conjunction. However, CBD Tinctures or Oils are generally the most popular method of consumption for these reasons.

Why Use CBD Tinctures Over Other Products?

Conclusion

In short, CBD Tinctures offer a safe, effective, and legal way to get the medical benefits of cannabidiol. There is no risk of addiction, no risk of getting high, and you can buy as much as you want without a prescription.

Patients of various disorders can turn to CBD for the relief of symptoms like pain, anxiety, seizures, insomnia, and a lot more. It can be used either on its own or in conjunction with other treatments. Even those without health issues can benefit from using CBD as a daily health supplement. It reduces the risk of diabetes, cancer, brain problems, heart problems, and more. It’ll also help with reducing stress and improving sleep on a day to day level.

2 Charlotte’s Web CBD Gummies: Calm

For years, Charlotte’s Web has been stating that their CBD gummies are created to assist people with daily stressors. Produced by the Stanley Brothers (Joel, Jesse, Jon, Jordan, Jared, and Josh) in 2012 and based in Boulder, Colorado, the company’s hemp CBD gummies are offered in three variations: Calm, Sleep, and Recovery for after working out. By 2013, Stanley Brothers were features on CNN, 60 Minutes, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and more. I decided to try the “Calm” option for my stressful workdays.

All of Charlotte’s Web CBD Calm Gummies are gluten free. They are also made with their own combination of fruits and veggies, along with dozens of phytocannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. A little L-theanine and lemon balm are mixed in as well.

According to their website, the CBD products sold at Charlotte’s Web are designed to help individuals relax, stay focused without feeling drowsy, and improve regular sleep patterns. The flavors come from real fruit and veggies. I tried the Lemon Lime flavor. They did work, but they certainly are not the best CBD gummies out there. They also taste rather sour.

All of the CBD gummies to help a person stay calm from Charlotte’s Web are made with zero additives and no dyes. Each jar contains 60 gummies with 10 mg of hemp extract, 50 mg of L-theanine, and 75 mg of lemon balm per serving. Two gummies are suggested for each serving, but I often had to ingest more than two or three to feel at peace after a stressful day at work.

Charlotte’s Web markets its CBD gummies to people on the go. Its main focus is consumers with busy lifestyles can use them after exercising, as well as at the office and at bedtime. A user just has to be patient and consistent and positive results will be steady, even if they are a bit slow.

3 PureKana Vegan CBD Gummies

Based in Scottsdale, Arizona, the team at PureKana markets their vegan CBD gummies to people looking to manage daily stressors, whether they are at home or in the office. The company that became known for its oil tinctures organically grows its own brand of CBD gummies on Kentucky farms.

Made in the United States and sourced from domestically grown hemp, PureKana relies on its trademarked technology and CO2 extraction procedure to make its own gummies. They come in a wide variety of natural flavors, but nothing stands out as tasting particularly special. The company also states its hemp never contains dangerous or toxic elements, such as chemical fertilizers, herbicides, or pesticides.

Supposedly, PureKana’s products work with a person’s Endocannabinoid System to offer mental and physical benefits, like loosening up and feeling free of stress. PureKana markets their gummies to people looking to improve sleep-patterns.

Ensuring product and consumer safety, PureKana works with certified companies and third-party laboratories to test every CBD edible. They are also 100% vegan and completely free of both GMO and THC isolate.

I appreciated how PureKana walks readers through the process of eating CBG gummies, and the treats traveling along the digestive system before being absorbed. I also liked their honesty, admitting that its Vegan CBD Gummies often take a while to become effective. PureKana lives up to industry standards and customer expectations.

You can read details about every CBD edible on their website, where the company boasts about its fabulous affiliations with hemp growers. A visitor can read all about every one of its products for sale. Lab results are also shared on the company website. I even noticed that they market their CBD supplements to senior citizens.

Designed to improve relaxation, a $40 bottle of 20 PureKana Vegan CBD Gummies comes with 25 mg of CBD per piece. Of course, you can increase or decrease your frequency and quantity as needed.

4 Green Roads CBD Gummies

Green Roads is a small family-based business in Florida that was founded by an experienced pharmacist in 2013, Laura Baldwin Fuentes. The pharmacist was trying to help a friend overcome an addiction to opiates, the drugs derived from opium. Today, Green Roads has one mission: to improve the physical and mental wellbeing of every consumer with high quality CBD products, like oil tinctures and edibles.

Today, Green Roads’ is rather popular. In fact, its broad spectrum formulas can be found in more than 10,000 different retail locations across the country. They are non GMO and stem from hemp grown on domestic farms. Green Roads offers a wide variety of products designed to work for almost everyone, including daily dose packs, animal products, and even coffees and teas.

The company boasts about its high standards and breakthrough extraction methods. I also appreciate how a user can readily find product lab sheets online, as well as by scanning a QR code on the packaging. That’s pretty cool. Green Roads also breaks down usage information for each product to make it as straightforward as possible.

However, Green Roads’ proprietary formulations are perhaps too proprietary. The company does not provide specifics about its extraction processes and certifications online, making it hard for users to understand exactly how its products are made. At least every one of Green Roads’ products is tested at a third party lab.

Unfortunately, Green Roads CBD Gummies aren’t made with phytocannabinoid-rich (PCR) hemp oil. Also, consumers can’t read important information about their extraction and formulation processes. The gummies’ lab sheets can be found on the packaging, as well as online.
While they are known for proving quality service, Green Roads is also one of the most expensive brands out there. A $43.95 bottle of 30 Green Roads CBD Gummies only comes with 10 mg of CBD per piece. Ouch.

5 Lord Jones Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops

Based in Los Angeles, Lord Jones has been making luxurious CBD products since 2016. Marketing to the rich and famous, Lord Jones Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops are supposed to be chic. Okay, but you are paying a bit more for product recognition and packaging.

Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops are made to promote a serene sense of well-being. Everything is mixed in little batches containing Ecuadorian dark chocolate, imported natural European fruit flavors, sugar, citric acid, gelatin, and broad spectrum CBD extract derived from top quality hemp.

Developed by a veteran team of experts in the CBD industry, Lord Jones’ gummies are said to help individuals feel calm and cool. Supposedly, they can help a user concentrate for extended periods of time. Of course, they do take a while to kick in.

All the CBD edibles are manufactured here in the U.S. and possess no THC whatsoever. They are also gluten free, as well as tested in labs to ensure customers’ safety. Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops also have gelatin, meaning they are not vegan. Not only are they made with sugar cane, a consumer may find small amounts of dairy. After all, the gumdrops are created in a facility that also manufactures products with dairy.

Lord Jones claims it is best to consume the CBD treats within 6 months from the date of purchase. But I noticed they grow hard after 2 or 3 months. It’s only natural for gummies to stiffen up after being exposed to air for too long. In other words, make sure you keep any Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops in a sealed bag or airtight container, and stored at room temperature.

Each box of Lord Jones Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops costs $45 and only comes with a mere 9 gumdrops, each containing 20 mg of CBD. A whopping $5 a pop is a bit pricey, especially for a product that doesn’t always receive favorable reviews. At least Lord Jones Old-Fashioned CBD Gumdrops are elegantly packaged.

6 Fab CBD Chews

For those of you who want to steer clear of THC in general, Fab CBD Chews has been around since 2018. Despite the company being located in Tampa, Florida, its financial offices are on the other side of the pond in the U.K. They are also small in size in comparison to the leaders of the CBD industry, like Just CBD.

Designed to manage day to day stressors, Fab CBD Chews’ gummies are crafted with CBD isolate. They are also gluten free and non GMO, as well as a smart option for vegans.

What I like about Fab CBD is its simplicity. Not only do they maintain an informative website, it only sells three products, CBD oil, a CBD topical cream, and CBD gummies. Each one is derived from naturally grown hemp. It’s just too bad Fab CBD Chews are only available in one flavor, Fruit, that is said to have an undesirable taste.

Fab CBD Chews website has plenty of photos of supposed real customers, which is refreshing to see. Many other CBD businesses’ websites lack color and personality. At the same time, they don’t skip out on sharing lab reports. In fact, Fab CBD chews uses the same analytics laboratory, ProVerde, as Fab CBD Chews and much bigger companies, such as PureKana.

Those with allergies should beware, as Fab CBD Chews are processed. In fact, they stem from the same building that makes fish gelatin. They are then packaged in the same facility as wheat, coconut, and dairy products.

Meant to work as a post-workout supplement, the gummies from Fab CBD Chews have 25 mg of CBD isolate, come in a 4 oz jar, and supposedly contain 750 mg of CBD total. Of course, without a lab, it’s hard to know how much you are really getting in each piece. They normally cost $59 or more.

7 Premium Jane CBD

Since opening its doors in the summer of 2018 in Los Angeles, Premium Jane CBD has blossomed into a popular brand in the United States. Now centered in Scottsdale, Arizona, Premium Jane’s products, including standard CBD oil tinctures, soft gel CBD capsules, a topical CBD cream, and CBD gummies are created with a THC-free isolate extract.

Premium Jane CBD gummies should be consumed just like any other piece of candy, allowing the CBD to travel through your digestive system before it gets absorbed into your bloodstream. People should start out with either half a gummy or one whole gummy to figure out their ideal serving sizes.

The CBD gummies are created at registered Pilot Research farms in rural Oregon, where they are inspected regularly for purity, as well as for safety. Each crop is selected for its rich amounts of terpenes and cannabinoids in order to give a user the best CBD experience possible before being shipped anywhere in the 50 States.

Everything sold at Premium Jane is extracted from the stalk, stems, leaves and flowers of industrial cannabis. They also make it a point to avoid using any and all dangerous chemicals, including pesticides, herbicides, and chemical fertilizers in its products. Meanwhile, a user never has to worry about the psychoactive “high” associated with marijuana. Rather folks simply feel calm and cool.

When it comes to Premium Jane CBD gummies, user feedback is at a minimum, as they have not been around very long. Yet, there are some benefits worth noting shared in reviews all over the web. For starters, the company relies on the reputable ProVerde Labs to make sure their CBD is top of the line and effective in users’ systems.

A person can even go online and check out Premium Jane CBD gummies’ laboratory reports, along with customer feedback. Reviews often mentions the great taste of the edibles. The price of Premium Jane CBD gummies is rather inexpensive. A jar of 30 gummies, 25 mg each, is priced at $55.

8 Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies

Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies are created to help those who are stressed out feel at ease. Staying focused becomes easier, as does sleeping through the night. That is why they are all made with a unique blend of broad spectrum CBD, vitamin D3, and vitamin B12.

The treats are ideal for vegans who crave vitamins. The goal of Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies is to decrease a user’s daily mental, physical, and emotional strains. A consumer can choose between Sunday Scaries’ gelatin based gummies from pure sugarcane and vegan-friendly edibles made from pectin, along with high fructose corn syrup.

Perhaps the greatest benefit, or at least the most fun factor of Sunday Scaries CBD gummies is that they come in a variety of colors, including yellow, orange, green, and a tasty red. They may come with an unpleasant aftertaste, but I know I am not simply enjoying candy for my sweet tooth.

I suggest taking a single Sunday Scaries CBD Gummy bear roughly 45 minutes before heading to bed. If you do not begin to feel drowsy in 30 minutes, simply enjoy a second helping. That should be enough to knock you out for a few hours at a time. If a third is necessary, go ahead. However, I wouldn’t consume any more than three.

Whether you are on the highway or watching television in the evening, you will feel more relaxed. You’ll get better sleep and not be sluggish in the morning. Every bottle of Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies comes with 20 gummies with 10 mg of CBD each. I found them online for $31 to $39 each. Of course, folks can always buy in bulk to save a few bucks. They may not be the most inexpensive edibles on the market, but Sunday Scaries CBD Gummies do help you chill out.

9 CBDfx Gummies

Founded in 2015, Southern California’s CBDfx is one of the most well-established brands for CBD. The brand got its feet wet with CBD Vape products and has since began selling its own brand of CBD gummies derived from hemp plants grown organically in the United States.
The gummies are sweet and chewy. You can go on the web and quickly choose berry flavored CBD treats or special CBD gummies with special ingredients, like turmeric, melatonin and spirulina. None of the gummies are made with corn syrup, artificial sweeteners, or any other destructive chemicals.

CBDfx prides itself on using nothing but natural plant based ingredients for its CBD gummies, as well as vape pens, oil tinctures, and more. They also claim to be the very first brand to create 100% vegan gummies. While the snacks certainly look like appetizing candy, they taste nothing like standard gummy bears. Rather, CBDfx Gummies remind me of green licorice.

CBDfx Gummies are made from organic sugar cane. As a result, the small particles of sugar dance around the inside of the bottle, rather than staying stuck to the gummies. That means a person can expect a little mess to fall on his or her desk or lap every time one is pulled out. Otherwise, CBDfx Gummies are an impressive and effective treat for the mind and body.

Unfortunately, CBDfx doesn’t share any information about who farms their hemp or what procedures they follow. Who knows what practices are being used?

You can now purchase little 8 packs of CBDfx Gummies, as well as 60 pieces with 5 mg of CBD per vegan gummy, 300 mg in total, for approximately $50. The company recommends a dose of one to two CBD gummies a day, meaning a bottle of 60 gummies should last a consumer for one to two months.

10 Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies

Made with all natural ingredients, Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies is the opposite of a pharmaceutical company. Founded in Texas in 2015 and operating a retail location in Olympia, Washington, Highland Pharms uses organic hemp grown on a boutique farm in Colorado.
Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies do not smell good, nor do they taste any better. At least they successfully help people relax and fall asleep.

What Highland Pharms refers to as “Pharmaceutical Grade Hemp” is industrial hemp that has been specifically bred to have high levels of cannabinoids. The non GMO CBD gummies are all natural, with the exception of food dyes and artificial flavorings (Black Carrot Juice Concentrate, Organic Turmeric, and Organic Annatto) in their gummies.

As far as negative factors about Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies, I know buyers are quickly turned off by the name “Pharms” and its label, “pharmaceutical grade.” There is no more information offered to distinguish it from medicine or even industrial hemp. Also, a blogger like me is quickly annoyed at silly typos and partial product descriptions of the business website. It’s not very professional.

All of Highland Pharms’ products are sent off for testing by ProVerde that confirms the gummies’ potency of CBD and other cannabinoids. They also make sure there are zero heavy metals, pesticides, herbicides, or microbes.

There is no one standard serving size. While one person may like taking half a piece at a time, another may prefer the mental and physical effects of one or even two CBD snacks.

You can purchase fruit flavored Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies in bottles of 20. You can choose 10 mg gummies for $39.95 or 20 mg edibles for $69.95. The shipping is known to be fast, as well as free. While the price may be a bit high, consumer feedback usually claims Highland Pharms Hemp Plus CBD Gummies are worth the money.

You don’t want to spend too much money, but you should also steer clear of any cheap edibles. But there is so much more to consider than merely prices.

When choosing what CBD gummies to buy, you should consider the type of CBD that is used in the ingredients. CBD isolate is pure CBD that has no other cannabidiols whatsoever. This is a fabulous product for anyone who must avoid THC, like a bus driver or schoolteacher who is worried about failing a drug test. Yet, the CBD isolate extraction method takes away many important organic compounds and terpenes. In other words, an individual won’t achieve the same range of mental and physical benefits as normal CBD gummies.

2020’s Best CBD Pain Creams & Topicals

2020’s Best CBD Pain Creams & Topicals

Nowadays, CBD merchandise can be found all over our culture. Since President Trump signed the 2018 Farm Bill, it has been legal to buy and sell industrial hemp throughout the United States. After all, CBD that stems from hemp is not the same as marijuana derived CBD. While each product comes from cannabis, hemp has less than 0.3% THC, which is not enough to give a person the euphoric high often associated with mary jane. Yet, CBD items, such as creams and topicals made from hemp still allows folks to manage their stress, relaxing their minds and bodies.

“No pain, no gain,” right? No, not anymore. Regardless of the time of day or the last time you ate, CBD pain cream is exceptionally soothing.

Just CBD also sells cooling CBD Roll-On cream for fast pain relief in 200 mg and 350 mg options for around $40 and $48 respectively. 2 Charlotte’s Web Hemp Infused Topical Cream

Besides JustCBD, Charlotte’s Web is perhaps the most popular company that sells cannabidiol goods. Offering merchandise grown and sold in Boulder, Colorado, Charlotte’s Web offers full spectrum hemp infused cream created with a nourishing extract that includes vitamin B5, aloe and coconut oil. Buyers can choose between the Soothing Scent and Unscented hemp infused cream.

Both men and women tend to like the Charlotte’s Web hemp infused cream. It seems to be great at softening itchy skin. Yet, Charlotte’s Web’s topical feels extremely thick compared to more oil based lotions people use on their hands and feet. Some folks think it is too thick and greasy because it takes a while to dry. After 45 minutes or so, rough and dry patches feel nice and smooth. Skin then stays nice and soft for hours at a time. Even aching feet become manageable. Reviews on the web also claim that the hemp infused cream has a faint, but pleasurable smell. Both men and women appreciate that it doesn’t possess a menthol scent, unlike many topical creams out there.

A 2.5 oz tube 750 mg of hemp extract sells for $49.99 on the Charlotte’s Web business website. Each tube has 300 mg of hemp per oz. The site says that everything it sells is laboratory tested. However, consumers like me can’t find any info on such testing. Is it done in-house or sent out to a third party lab? Of course, curious buyers can always call their phone number or submit an email, but who has the time or patience? Buyers have to use the batch numbers on their products to gain online entry to such information. But that access only comes with a purchase. Doh! Why doesn’t Charlotte’s Web share the lab results on the packaging or the internet?

3 PureKana Topical CBD Ointment

Another leader in the CBD industry is PureKana. Located in Scottsdale, Arizona, the company has been around since 2017. They made a name for themselves selling potent oil tinctures grown on farms in Kentucky. Pure Kana’s original mission was to help men and women, including senior citizens, cope with all the stressors of their daily lives. Today, the goal of PureKana’s topical ointment is to get into a person’s skin to give a hydrating, refreshing feeling.

Supposedly, the CBD product successfully moisturizes and rejuvenates users’ skin, in addition to enhancing its elasticity and inner-cell walls. Redness and inflammation can be significantly decreased. Buyers claim it is convenient and easy to use too. I particularly like the fact that PureKana only uses organically grown hemp from the U.S. Pure Kana then uses their own technology and CO2 in its extraction process to make their CBD ointment with a precise amount of THC. Apparently, there are no toxins, like fertilizers and pesticides, in their CBD goodies. It’s also cool that everything is tested in a third party laboratory.

A 3.4 oz bottle of Pure Kana topical ointment with 600 mg of CBD sells on the internet for $80. Personally, I like the fact that Pure Kana only works with certified companies, and that everything they sell is tested at a third party laboratory. Online customers appreciate the 30 day satisfaction guarantee. Consumer feedback likes the fact that anyone can see certificates and laboratory reports on the business website. It looks like PureKana meets all of the government’s requirements and industry standards. Of course, there are a few negative opinions too. Some buyers feel Pure Kana’s topical isn’t as effective as many of its competitors, especially for its high price. Users have even complained about figuring out the right amount of ointment they are supposed to apply to their skin.

4 Green Roads Topical Creams

Headquartered in Deerfield Beach, Florida, Green Roads has operated as a successful family business since 2013. It all began when a pharmacist, Laura Baldwin Fuentes went on a mission to create a cure for a friend’s addition to opiates, not to be confused with opioids. Her mission was a success and she now works as CEO of Green Roads. A wide variety of the award winning company’s broad spectrum formulas are now found in doctors’ offices, fitness centers, yoga studios and retail shops across the nation. Consumers can also shop for Green Roads’ topical cream on the internet.

Some of the selling points for Green Road’s creams is that they are all made from non GMO hemp that is grown in the U.S. I also like Green Roads’ undeniable transparency, as they share plenty of information about its modern extraction process on their website. A visitor like me experiences no trouble finding important information, including QR codes that link to online lab reports from a third party, on each of their CBD products for sale. In fact, a visitor can find lab sheets to go with all of the merchandise. At the same time, everything is tested by a third party. The biggest problem for Green Roads’ topicals seems to be the high prices. Folks have also complained about rude customer service representatives and poor packaging.

A buyer can choose from Green Roads’ 150 mg and 300 mg in 1 oz containers of Soothing CBD Topical pain cream for about $35 and $63 respectively. While the pieces of CBD are a bit expensive, there’s simply not enough “bang for your buck” there. At least Green Roads guarantees their retail goods. They also sell CBD infused Muscle & Joint Heat Relief Cream with 250 mg and 500 mg of CBD for about $49 and $70 respectively.

5 Lord Jones High CBD Formula Body Lotion

Lord Jones High Formula Body Lotion from Southern California has been marketing their CBD merchandise as deluxe and classy since 2016. The hemp-derived lotion is supposedly rich enough to fight off redness in both dry and oily skin. Made by a knowledgeable team of professionals, Lord Jones’ CBD Body Lotion is made with broad spectrum CBD oil. Besides soothing CBD, the ingredients include vitamin-rich shea butter and zero gluten or alcohol. The body lotion is also vegan. A buyer can relax knowing that every ointment sold by Lord Jones is created in the United States and lab tested.

It is meant for individuals to hydrate dry skin, whether it is in the palms of their hands, on their bellies or the bottom of their feet after wearing high heels all day. According to feedback on the web, it allegedly helps skin get back to normal after baking in the sun for hours and even fights off painful cuticles. People appreciate the Lord Jones cream for minimizing small pains of irritated skin at the heels of their feet. You know, the aches that sink in after you’ve been standing up all day. Individuals rub the lotion and it feels like Lidocaine with a damp odor. That’s why some folks claim to use it for neck pain as well. As far as negative critiques for Lord Jones’ CBD body lotion, internet reviews discuss its ineffectiveness for deep tissue pain.

A 1.69 oz bottle of Lord Jones High Formula Body Lotion with 50 ml of CBD costs $60. Every pump releases 1 ml of lotion carrying 2 mg of CBD. A buyer can choose the fragrance free or the signature fragrance with hints of sage, mint and green citrus. It may be chic, but folks end up spending big money on nothing more than a mediocre product with extravagant packaging.

6 Fab CBD Topical CBD Cream

Located in Tampa with offices in the U.K., Fab CBD has been earning a name for themselves in the completive cannabidiol business since 2018. As a team, they have a combined 25 years of experience in the health, fitness and supplement industries. Their CBD pain cream is produced with full spectrum hemp extract to minimize joint and muscle pain. Everything is created naturally on a farm in Colorado.

The Fab CBD website has plenty of good information. It contains all the data that a potential or repeat buyer would search for. I also like the content on Fab CBD’s business site, as you’d expect from a company that only sells three products, its CBD topical cream, edibles and tincture oil. Rather than trying to impress readers with scientific lingo and big words that are hard to follow, it feels like the writer is just telling me the information I am curious about. A visitor can easily click on a photo of the label to read all the ingredients, from aloe vera leaf extract and vitamin E to CO2 extracted hemp oil. The site also has plenty of photos shared by real buyers. I like that. It makes the CBD merchandise feel real, as I see people like me using the pain cream.

A 2 oz container with 600 mg of CBD oil runs for $49, and the only flavor I could find on their site is Fresh. At least its organic. According to their website, the cream is three times stronger than the average cream for pain relief. I don’t think so. The site also claims the topical ointment has a shelf life of 365 days, as long as you keep it unopened and away from extreme heat, cold and moisture. Again, I wouldn’t trust any cream in a jar that can be left open for 12 months.

7 Premium Jane Topicals

Since opening their doors in Los Angeles back in 2018, Premium Jane has become one of the major players in the CBD game. Using hemp from Oregon farms and operating out of Arizona, Premium Jane now stocks a large supply of CBD oils, CBD capsules, CBD gummies and CBD bath bombs, along with topicals. The CBD topicals are meant to be massaged into the skin. By doing so, you are administering the CBD in a fast and effective way, and you never have to worry about the pain cream being exposed to your digestive system.

As an avid shopper of CBD goodies, I know how to spot quality merchandise. For instance, I appreciate that everything sold by Premium Jane made is with various parts of the hemp plant. Sometimes it is the leaves and stalk, while other times it is the flower. That’s why the color of the cream sometimes varies. Who cares, as long as the moisturizing components assist with ongoing hydration for a user’s dry and/or damaged skin? You can rest assured that there are no fertilizers or pesticides in the cream.

There are two CBD creams for sale on Premium Jane’s business website. First, the 1500 mg of Cocoa Butter CBD Topical Salve is priced at $125, while the 750 mg of Eucalyptus cream runs for $75. The prices are not as high as Green Roads or Lord Jones, but the praise isn’t as consistent as Just CBD. It’s too bad that I couldn’t find much customer feedback on Premium Topicals. But that’s to be expected from any new company, whether they are selling powerful CBD ointments, athletic shoes or pogo sticks. At least consumers can feel safe knowing that everything is tested for both quality and safety at ProVerde Labs. In fact, there are laboratory results posted on the business website.

8 CBDfx CBD Topical Creams

CBDfx can already be considered veterans of the game, as the Southern California company has been in business since 2015. Selling natural hemp grown in the United States, they stock everything from CBD vape juice, gummies, drinks, waxes and tinctures to CBD treats for pets and topical creams. It is all produced on modern farms in Kentucky with their own line of CBD oil. All of CBDfx’s creams are meant to prolong the life of amino acids and natural vitamins in a user’s skin.

CBDfx markets their recognizable cannabidiol creams as pharmacist formulated, thanks to the inventor’s previous profession. I was immediately eerie because the last thing I want in my CBD merchandise is pharmaceuticals. Upon further investigation I realized that the topicals are made with quality CO2 extracted CBD, along with other organic ingredients, like plant derived caffeine to stimulate blood flow for faster results. The white willow bark extract acts as an anti-inflammatory. There is also menthol extracted from the mint plant that can dull irritated skin, while leaving a faint but refreshing menthol smell. Supposedly, the ointment moisturizes and nourishes the skin without making it greasy.

The price of CBDfx topicals are rather reasonable. A 50 ml bottle (1.7 oz) with 150 mg of full spectrum CBD is $39.99 online, and a 30 ml (1 oz) bottle of 100 mg full spectrum CBD is $29.99. Consumers appreciate CBDfx’s quality customer service, as well as their wide range of products that ship free anywhere in the nation. The harshest feedback that people can read on the internet is that CBDfx’s topicals only last 3 hours or so at a time, but the company instructs users to apply it every 4 to 6 hours. Why even bother when you can just buy a CBD topical that actually works for 5 hours or more.

9 Highland Pharms CBD Therapy+ Hemp Lotion and Cream

Despite the name, Highland Pharms’ CBD Therapy+ Hemp Lotion is made with natural ingredients. So why do they use the word “Pharm” in the title? It’s to stress the point that is uses rather high levels of CBD. Okay, whatever works. Apparently, something is working, considering Highland Pharms has been in business since 2015. With retail locations in the state of Washington, the company uses nothing but organically grown hemp from Colorado. Supposedly, all of Highland Pharms’ CBD goodies are extremely strong, thanks to their own hemp extract.

As a consumer, I was a bit bothered by the thought of purchasing CBD lotion with pharmaceuticals in it. But I quickly got over it. Then the big problem was finding information on the product. If there are no pharmaceuticals, then what is the CBD Cream made of? I consider myself pretty handy with Google, but I still couldn’t find any information online to show me that the lotion it is not a pharmaceutical medicine. Also, all of the little misspellings on their business website annoyed a writer like me. My professors would have a fit if they ever read the Highland Pharms site. At least all of their CBD cream is professionally tested for heavy metals or potentially harmful pesticides by ProVerde. This allows buyers to feel safe, unlike when they purchase CBD goods from China, if not a stranger on eBay.

A 2 oz jar of Highland Pharms CBD Therapy+ Hemp Cream with 100 mg sells for about $40 on the internet. 200 mg of the CBD Therapy+ Cream is almost $60. Meanwhile, a 4 oz bottle of Therapy+ Extra Hemp Lotion with 400 mg of CBD costs $59.95, and an 8 oz bottle with 800 mg of CBD is $89.95. Ouch! From everything I could find, Highland Pharms CBD lotions and creams simply do not justify paying such high prices.

10 cbdMD CBD Topicals

Sticking the same pharmaceutical-like name that I don’t care for, cbdMD CBD has been operating out of Charlotte, North Carolina since 2019. Before picking the ideal location to build their plant, they visited 14 different countries on three continents before choosing the best climate for growing hemp twelve months a year. cbdMD’s hemp-derived Revive CBD Topicals are now available in three different types. Everything is vegan, non GMO and are created with broad spectrum CBD containing no THC whatsoever. Various sizes of cbdMD’s comes in either a tub or a squeeze bottle.

For starters, there is cbdMD’s Recover inflammation formula, along with CBD Freeze rollers and squeeze bottles. The CBD Revive Squeeze is a thick moisturizing lotion that is made with organic material, such as aloe vera and coconut oil, that is great for dry, inflamed skin. Reducing redness and swelling, CBD Revive can be used on things like burns, bruises and irritated skin, but not on open sores. cbdMD’s CBD Revive Squeeze is available in three different strengths, 300 mg in a 2 oz bottle for $29.99, while both the $69.99 750 mg and $99.99 1500 mg are available in a 4 oz container. What I appreciate about cbdMD’s products is their natural ingredients, including acai berry, rice bran, and shea butter.

Online feedback mentions that the creams take only 5 to 10 minutes to moisturize the skin and can last up to 6 hours at a time. The smell has hints of cinnamon, peppermint and citrus. Buyers also mention that cbdMD’s goods are neither thick nor greasy. Everything is grown in the U.S. and third party tested for quality. Unfortunately for cbdMD, the internet is packed with negative reviews. Customers complain about various problems, including ineffective merchandise, rude customer service reps, lost Fed Ex packages that will not be refunded and receiving items without batch numbers.
